Fight Outside Downtown Concord Bar Leads To Fugitive From Justice Arrest: Watch

Police and firefighters were called to the area outside the Draft and Concord Casino for a fight. One man was arrested on multiple charges.

CONCORD, NH — Concord police are investigating a fight outside a downtown establishment that led to the arrest of one man who was a fugitive from justice in Massachusetts.

Around 11:30 p.m., police dispatch received a call for service to the Draft bar and restaurant and Concord Casino for a report of a fight. Dispatch told officers heading to the scene that one man had another man pinned to the ground.

Officers were able to arrive quickly and get things under control. One officer requested Concord fire and rescue teams to the scene because one man was injured.

Update

As they began checking names, one of the men, dispatch noted, had priors and cautions attached to his name and was known to carry a firearm, according to scanner chatter.

Witnesses were also questioned, including one from Connecticut.

After fire and rescue teams arrived, they quickly cleared after the patient declined services.

One man had an active Concord police warrant and a warrant out of Massachusetts and was taken into custody.

Later, the suspect was accused of smashing his head against a barrier inside the cruiser. The watch commander told the officer, “if he’s not being cooperative, he can go north,” — meaning he could be taken directly to the Merrimack County Jail.

The man was arrested on the warrants, simple assault, disorderly conduct, resisting arrest or detention, and fugitive from justice charges.
