Fiorina Suspends Presidential Campaign
Disappointing seventh place finish in New Hampshire ends effort but in note on Facebook she vows not sit down and be quiet.

Former CEO Carly Fiorina has decided to suspend her campaign after a disappointing finish in the New Hampshire first-in-the-nation presidential primary in a note on Facebook at just after 3 p.m. on Feb. 10, 2016.
The Republican candidate stated that she, too, was frustrated with the “empty promises” made year after year, election after election, one of the reasons that voters cast ballots for Donald Trump and Bernie Sanders last night.
“I’ve said throughout this campaign that I will not sit down and be quiet,” she wrote. “I’m not going to start now. While I suspend my candidacy today, I will continue to travel this country and fight for those Americans who refuse to settle for the way things are and a status quo that no longer works for them.”

She called for ending crony capitalism and fighting the policies that allowed that to flourish. Fiorina added that it would be “conservative principles that lift people up.”

Despite receiving a number of high profile endorsements, including numerous state Senators and former public officials, Fiorina received 11,706 votes in the primary but was kept out of the final debate before New Hampshire voted due to not qualifying even though she had more delegates and higher poll positions than others on the stage.
Fiorina – who started out her career as a secretary to become the CEO of one of the largest technology companies at the time – also wrote a note to girls and women on the post: “To young girls and women across the country, I say: do not let others define you. Do not listen to anyone who says you have to vote a certain way or for a certain candidate because you’re a woman. That is not feminism. Feminism doesn’t shut down conversations or threaten women. It is not about ideology. It is not a weapon to wield against your political opponent. A feminist is a woman who lives the life she chooses and uses all her God-given gifts. And always remember that a leader is not born, but made. Choose leadership.”
