Former Concord Man Indicted For Killing His Daughter: Report
Jocarl Bureau has been indicted on reckless second-degree murder and manslaughter charges for allegedly killing Jayleah Bureau, 3, in 2016.

CONCORD, NH — The New Hampshire Attorney General’s Office has announced that a grand jury in Merrimack County has indicted Jocarl Bureau on murder charges for allegedly killing his 3-year-old daughter in March 2016, according to an alert. Jayleah Bureau was rushed from Canton Circle to Concord Hospital on March 15, 2016, after fire and rescue teams were sent to the home on an unresponsive child call. She was pronounced dead at the hospital due to blunt force trauma to the abdomen, according to the state’s medical examiner’s office.

Two weeks after her death, Bureau was arrested on warrants for nonappearance in court on May 20, 2014, on a criminal threatening charge, $1,000 cash bail, as well as a Manchester Police Department warrant for contempt of court. While in jail, he allegedly made phone calls and threatened to punch a woman in the face.

“When I get out of here, I’m going to punch (that woman) in her face,” Bureau allegedly stated, according to a detective’s transcription of the recorded phone call.

About 20 minutes later, he called the woman again and attempted to obtain a phone number from her, according to the affidavit. During the conversation, he allegedly stated, “I guarantee, I’m gonna give all you n-----s a reason to call the police … I swear to God, watch.” A month later, he was charged with stalking and criminal threatening.
Bureau was arrested on other charges – including conspiracy to commit and two counts of criminal solicitation to commit – after alleged incidents at the Merrimack County House of Corrections in November 2016. He was indicted earlier this year on a felony witness tampering charge, allegedly attempting to have a woman withhold testimony about a proceeding in Manchester in June 2016.
Police continued to work the case and developed more evidence against him, according to affidavits. Bureau was formerly charged with second-degree murder in February of this year and held without bail. He was indicted earlier this year A probable cause hearing was held in March.
The circumstances surrounding the homicide case remain under investigation, according to Jason Casey, an assistant attorney general.
