A sergeant and an officer went to the location along with EMTs to assist the woman who was “visibly upset” and “bleeding from the head.” The woman alleged that Hanson assaulted her after allegedly assaulting her boyfriend the day before, according to a court affidavit. The woman stated that she went to Hanson’s home to speak with him about the previous day’s attack. After another woman answered the door, Hanson allegedly “came over with what looked like a metal pipe (baseball bat),” according to the report, and began attacking her.

“She stated it happened so fast and she only could remember bits and pieces,” according to a detective who filed the affidavit on May 24.

The victim stated that after being beaten, Hanson allegedly dragged her down the front stairs into the roadway by her head and hit her head against the pavement in the road while yelling, “Have you had enough b----? Have you had enough?” After leaving the scene, Hanson allegedly stated, “If you call the cops, I will shoot and kill you,” according to the affidavit.

The reporting officer attempted to have the victim write a written statement but “she kept bleeding all over it from her injuries.” Pictures of injuries to her face and shoulder, which was also bruised, were taken, according to the report, and she was transported to Concord Hospital.

The officers went then went to Chestnut Street and allegedly observed blood in the road and on the sidewalk in front of Hanson’s home. They reportedly spoke to the woman who answered the door at the home and she allegedly stated that there was “a crazy lady” who knocked on the door, was drunk, and yelling, according to the affidavit. She alleged that after Hanson came to the door, the victim grabbed his bat and attempted to wrestle him for it. The victim refused to get off his property when asked, she alleged, adding that while Hanson was “angry and animated,” he “assisted her down the stairs and she may have stumbled on the ground,” the affidavit stated.

The next day, a detective began working the case and she met with the victim to examine her injuries which included bruises on her legs, elbow, chest and inner shoulder area, hands, her left thigh and right hip, according to the report. In the follow-up interview, the victim reportedly stated that she began to leave when asked and that was when Hanson allegedly grabbed her hair and attacked her from behind. The other woman, she alleged, was yelling at Hanson and demanding him to stop.

Five days later, according to the report, the woman at the home was interviewed and reportedly stated that Hanson “got mad and grabbed the baseball bat from behind a door.” She added that he had “a temper,” was bipolar, “is old school and she is not,” and he “was teaching (her) a lesson in the road,” according to the report.

On May 17, the detective spoke to Hanson who reportedly stated that “he wrestled her for the bat,” that he had let go, and “she hit herself in the face with it.” He then reportedly stated that he grabbed the woman by the shirt collar and dragged her down the steps, she stumbled and fell, and that was when she started bleeding, according to the affidavit.

One witness reportedly stated that the victim never stepped into the house to reach for the bat while a second witness alleged that Hanson was walking about a foot behind the victim “with an iron pipe, slamming it on the pavement, and screaming he could kill her.” The second witness stated that they were in fear for the victim.

The detective filed the affidavit and Hanson was arrested later that month.

Back in June 2011, Hanson, while living in Concord, was arrested for disorderly conduct on Fisherville Road. In December 2015, he was arrested for possession of drugs and possession of drugs in a motor vehicle in Pittsfield.
