CONCORD, NH — Halloween Howl, the annual downtown event canceled in 2020 due to coronavirus, returns on Friday for the 12th time.

The event runs from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. More than 75 businesses will be participating in the event. Main Street will be closed from Centre Street to Pleasant Street from 3 to 8:30 p.m. with a number of side streets also closed.

Intown Concord, the sponsor of the event, will be holding a Spooktacular Costume Contest — including entries accepted for best homemade costume, best group costume, and best store-bought costume, for both children and adults. A pet costume contest will also be held.
