Gun Threat Call In Concord Leads To Shootings On I-89

​Update: A suspect is in custody after an alleged domestic threat call in the South End last night and manhunt in Sutton this morning.

CONCORD, NH — Concord Police were called to the South End for a report of a gun threat call tonight by a man allegedly threatening his wife. The threat call led to a manhunt for the man after he allegedly began shooting at his wife’s vehicle on I-89. Concord Police dispatch initially took a call from Merrimack County dispatch from a woman who stated that her daughter was being threatened by her husband on Thorndike Street.

Three units were sent to the area of Thorndike and South streets, near the South Street Market, to investigate the incident which was reported at around 5:45 p.m. on Nov. 19, 2017. But before they got to the home, dispatch spoke to the mother who stated that both her daughter and son-in-law had left the home and were heading north I-89, in separate vehicles.

According to the daughter, her husband was allegedly shooting at her vehicle as they were driving north. The dispatcher, however, stated that she hadn’t heard any reports from anyone else or other law enforcement entities about any guns being fired.

At just before 6 p.m., a New Hampshire State Police trooper radioed to Concord Police dispatch stating that troopers were following two vehicles driving north on I-89 between Exit 8 and Exit 9, with one of the vehicles shooting at the other. The suspect’s vehicle was a blue GMC Envoy, according to the trooper.

At some point in Warner, state police reported that the woman was safely in custody and the man had reportedly bailed out of his vehicle near Exit 10. State Police and sheriffs were searching campers and buildings in the area attempting to locate the man.

Police in the South End searched the home just to make sure there was no one inside. At just before 6:45 p.m., they search the home and then, cleared the scene. Officers also headed to New London to speak with the woman who was allegedly threatened and shot at.

Concord Police confirmed at around 7:20 p.m. that no one has been injured at this time and that all agencies are attempting to confirm that the South End incident and the I-89 shootings are connected. All departments are also working to collaboratively to catch the suspect.
