Hazardous Weather Outlook Alert Issued for the Granite State

The National Weather Service warns that a wintery mix of precipitation is coming to New Hampshire Tuesday afternoon and Thursday.

GRAY, ME — The National Weather Service issued a hazardous weather outlook alert for most of the state of New Hampshire including all of coastal Rockingham County. The alert – issued at just before 4 a.m. on Jan. 10, 2017, warns that light precipitation will be spreading into the region today in the form of snow in non-coastal areas – Concord, Bedford, Merrimack, Nashua, Salem, as well as other communities – and a mix of rain and snow in Hampton, North Hampton, Portsmouth, and possibly Exeter.

The wintry mix of precipitation is expected to remain in interior southern sections of the state until late into the evening, according to the alert. While snow accumulations are not expected to be very high, road conditions could be slippery in places.

AccuWeather.com warns that the windy weather could be disruptive depending on how far the warmer temperatures – and with them, showers instead of snow – push north.

A second system – which is expected to hit New Hampshire on Thursday morning – will bring another mix of snow and rain before turning to rain, along with warmer, unseasonably temperatures for this time of the year.
