Interstate 93 Re-Opened After Multi-Vehicle Crash
Workers removing trees north of Exit 16 caused backups on I-93 North in Concord. As a result of the congestion, a 3-vehicle crash occurred.

CONCORD, NH — A Tilton man was cited for following too closely Friday after a three-vehicle collision on Interstate 93 North in Concord, according to the New Hampshire State Police. Around 11:45 a.m., troopers were sent to an area just north of Exit 16 where New Hampshire Department of Transportation employees were clearing trees. Due to the work they were performing, there was some congestion on the highway.
During that congestion, Sgt. Maurice Sampson of Troop D stated, a three-vehicle accident occurred.
"It was during this time that a 2006 Ford dump truck driven by Scott Marcotte, 27, of Tilton, struck the rear of a 2019 Chevrolet Silverado towing a 12-foot U-Haul trailer," Sampson said. "The resultant impact forced the Silverado into the rear of a 2017 Fed Ex box truck."

The vehicles, he said, had "extensive damage" and "were non-movable and blocking all lanes of travel." The crash caused the highway to be closed for more than an hour.
