Investigators Searching Building As Part Of Harmony Montgomery Case
Update: Cops are searching an apartment at 644 Union St. in Manchester and are expected to be at the scene through at least Wednesday.
CONCORD, NH — Several law enforcement agencies are searching an apartment building in Manchester on Tuesday in connection with a missing girl case.
The New Hampshire Attorney General’s Office said the FBI, U.S. Marshals, local police, and others were at 644 Union St. as part of its continued investigation into the disappearance of Harmony Montgomery, who has not been seen since 2019. Officials said both Adam Montgomery, the girl’s father, and Kayla Montgomery, the girl’s stepmother, lived at the address previously.
“Due to the ongoing investigation, no additional information will be released at this time,” Michael Garrity, the director of communications for the department, said.

Investigators were seen moving a new refrigerator freezer into the apartment building. Later, they wheeled an older refrigerator, wrapped with bio-hazards stickers, out of the building. An air conditioner was also installed in the apartment they were searching.
Around 3 p.m., Manchester DPW workers began searching sewer pipes around the apartment building.
Just before 5 p.m., Garrity said investigators are expected to remain on the scene into the evening.
"The residents of the area are thanked for their patience as this investigative work continues," he said. "In order to protect the integrity of the ongoing investigation, officials will not be disclosing what items are being sought and what, if any, evidence is located."
Officials also cautioned against "any speculation related to items being removed," he said.
The latest information from the case comes after several criminal procedures connected to Kayla Montgomery.
About two weeks ago, she was arrested on perjury charges. Investigators accused her of lying twice to a Hillsborough County grand jury about employment information as she faces a felony theft charge as well as other charges accusing her of accepting food state benefits while claiming Harmony Montgomery was living with her when she was not. She was released from jail on bail eight days ago.
Kayla Montgomery also faces two receiving stolen property charges connected to stolen rifle and shotgun cases from the same time period when Harmony Montgomery was last seen — although those charges are not connected to her disappearance.
Adam Montgomery faces both second-degree assault and child endangerment charges, accused of beating Harmony Montgomery not long before she was last seen, as well as several stolen firearms and felon in possession of weapons charges. He was indicted on the assault and endangerment charges about four months ago. Adam Montgomery has a lengthy criminal history dating back to when he was a teenager in Bedford and accused of drug dealing and assault. Adam Montgomery is also a person of interest in an unsolved homicide case in Lynn, Massachusetts.
This is the second house investigators have searched as part of the case twice. Volunteers also searched a wooded area near the Manchester-Bedford line for clues in the case.
The search for Harmony Montgomery continues with officials still requesting the public's assistance locating her. She is white, about 4 feet tall, and weighs around 50 pounds. Harmony Montgomery has blond hair and blue eyes and should be wearing glasses. She is also blind in one eye. There is a $144,000 reward for information leading to her whereabouts.
Anyone with information regarding her disappearance or current whereabouts is asked to call the Manchester Police Department's 24-hour tip line dedicated to her case at 603-203-6060.
