K-9 Called In To Hunt For Accused Assaulter In Hooksett Woods
Melisa Otero was arrested last week on domestic violence and resisting arrest or detention charges.

HOOKSETT, NH — A local woman was arrested last week on domestic assault and other charges after an altercation with a family member and a hunt through the woods near Zapora Drive. According to police, officers were sent to the drive after receiving a 911 call from a child at just before 10:30 p.m. reporting that his mother was fighting with his grandmother. The phone then went dead, according to Sgt. Mike Zappala of the Hooksett Police Department.
The officers spoke to a woman who accused Melisha Otero, 27, of assaulting "her twice during an argument and then left the residence on foot once she knew the police were contacted," Zappala stated.
Officers searched the area but were unable to find Otero so they set up a perimeter and called in a K-9 unit. The K-9 initiated a track and a short time later, reportedly located Otero under a bush on the edge of the property. She was arrested, Zappala noted, without incident.
