CONCORD, NH — The low flying lights in the sky seen in West Concord and Penacook in the middle of September were helicopters from the New Hampshire National Guard.

Lt. Col. Greg Heilshorn, a spokesperson for the guard, confirmed Monday the multiple Black Hawk helicopters reported by a resident were part of the department’s aviation companies and were performing “a scheduled training mission” in the area.

“They were ours,” he said. “We had three Black Hawk crews flying that evening. They flew at the same time and direction described by Cressey.”

Tim Cressey, who lives in the area, was outside his home smoking a cigarette around 7:30 p.m. on Sept. 15 when he saw some unusual lights, two red ones and a white one, in the sky above Fisherville Road. He did not believe the lights were from a satellite or airplane and had never seen anything like it before.

After recording a short video before the battery ran out on his cellphone, the lights left the area.

About 10 minutes later, three helicopters, flying so low that they shook his home, zoomed by, heading to the area of the original lights.

Cressey posted the information online. After speaking with him, Patch reached out to both the New Hampshire State Police and the New Hampshire National Guard to try and track down which department the helicopters were connected to.

Heilshorn said the first set of lights was a Black Hawk that left the Concord flight facility earlier in the training.

“Black Hawks have position lights, which like a boat are used during hours of darkness,” he said. “Red, port; green, starboard; and white, aft or tail. At a distance, the lights can appear to twinkle like a star.”

UFOs, UAPs, and other strange phenomena have been receiving more credibility from the public during the past few years after several military personnel began speaking out about things they were seeing in the sky that often defied gravity and known physics. Earlier this year, Congress began hearings to discuss the matter.

In New Hampshire, lights in the sky and strange objects have been an irregular occurrencefrom boomerang-shaped objects seen in the northern area of the city as well as southern New Hampshire to lights in the sky, too.
