Man Arrested On Assault, Threat Charges After Standoff With Police
Breaking: Jenness Peterson of Hooksett allegedly assaulted a woman, threatened to shoot her dogs, and police officers.

HOOKSETT, NH — A New Hampshire man was arrested on an array of charges after a standoff with police and SWAT teams earlier today, according to police. Jenness Peterson, 21, of Hooksett, was arrested on Sept. 6, 2017, on two counts of domestic violence-simple assault, two counts of simple assault, and criminal threatening. Police were sent to Dundee Avenue at just before noon today for a report of a domestic incident, according to Sgt. Mathew Burke of the Hooksett Police Department.

“Peterson was armed with a firearm that he loaded on scene in the victim’s presence,” according to Burke. “Peterson advised if police came he would shoot officers and then himself. The victim was able to get out of the residence and a perimeter was set up around the residence.”
The Manchester Police Special Operations Unit arrived to assist and after a number of hours, was able to have Peterson comply and placed him under arrest.

“At the time of his arrest a firearm was recovered within reach of Peterson,” Burke alleged.
Peterson requested the services of a bail commissioner and bail was set at $9,000 cash. He was unable to post the bail amount and was transported to the Merrimack County House of Corrections to await a video arraignment tomorrow.
