MANCHESTER, NH — A Manchester woman faces several charges Saturday after being accused of robbing a store and then leading police on a chase through a number of communities that eventually ended in Concord.

Around 12:15 p.m., officers in Manchester were sent to the U.S. Gold and Diamond Exchange store on South Willow Street for a report of an armed robbery. When they arrived, they learned a suspect had fled the scene with another person, according to Sgt. Robert Gravelle of the Manchester Police Department.

"The vehicle information and direction of travel was given to dispatch and relayed to responding officers," he said. "Officers were able to locate the suspect’s vehicle a short distance away and went to initiate a motor vehicle stop — but the driver refused to pull over."

While in Concord, the vehicle eventually stopped in the parking lot at the entrance of the National Guard headquarters on Regional Drive.

"The driver was armed with a knife and refused to comply with officers' commands," Gravelle said. "Less lethal options were used which allowed officers to take the suspect into custody."

Corissa Manning, 28, of Manchester, was arrested and taken to Concord Hospital to be treated. After being released from the hospital, she was taken to Manchester and charged with robbery, disobeying an officer, felony reckless conduct, and domestic violence-simple assault. Manning was held on a preventative detention order.
