Manson To Enter Plea After Accusations He Blew Nose On NH Concertgoer
The rocker, who goes by Marilyn Manson though his legal name is Brian Warner, was charged with two counts of simple assault in 2019.
CONCORD, NH — Marilyn Manson will plead no contest to blowing his nose on a videographer at a 2019 concert in New Hampshire, according to a filing by his attorney obtained by the Associated Press.
The rocker, whose legal name is Brian Warner but goes by Marilyn Manson, was charged with two misdemeanor counts of simple assault stemming from an encounter at the Bank of New Hampshire Pavilion in Gilford on Aug. 19, 2019.
A plea is expected to be entered Thursday in Belknap County Superior Court, the AP reported.

A notice of intent filed Monday says that Manson is expected to plead no contest to only one charge and that prosecutors will dismiss the other in the negotiated plea. A no-contest plea means Manson will not challenge the charge and does not admit guilt.

If the judge accepts the plea, Manson will face a sentence of a $1,200 fine with part of it suspended and 20 hours of community service within six months, according to the AP. He would need to avoid an arrest and notify local police of any New Hampshire performances for two years.
Witnesses at the August 2019 show wrote on the Gilford police Facebook page that Manson was spitting and blowing snot at a female videographer recording the performance.
Anthony Bean Burpee, the chief of police in Gilford, previously said the incident occurred while Manson was performing.
Burpee said the videographer was "in the stage pit area when the alleged assaults occurred." He said the videographer was subcontracted by a New Hampshire-based company.
"The initial assault report was investigated, an arrest warrant affidavit prepared by the investigating officer, the affidavit was then presented to a bail commissioner, reviewed, probable cause found, and an arrest warrant issued on Oct. 8, 2019," Burpee added.
In June 2021, Manson reached an agreement with police to turn himself in an active warrant for the two assault charges. In July of that same year, he was booked in Los Angeles.
