Mega Millions Lottery Winner Anonymously Picks Up $108.5M Check

The Just As B4 Nominee Trust of 2019 of Portsmouth had an attorney pick up its one-time payment of the $168 million ticket sold in Exeter.

CONCORD, NH — The first Mega Millions jackpot winner has claimed their $168 million prize. The winning ticket, which was purchase at the Brookside Market & Deli in Exeter in July, was claimed by Bill Shaheen of Shaheen & Gordon, on behalf of The Just As B4 Nominee Trust of 2019 of Portsmouth. Shaheen, who has also represented other lottery winners, will serve as trustee.

The winner chose the one-time cash prize of $108.5 million. It was the first Mega Millions winner in New Hampshire. State residents have purchased 11 winning Powerball tickets, according to the lottery.

"The New Hampshire Lottery is extremely pleased to make another New Hampshire Lottery player a multimillionaire," said Charlie McIntyre, the executive director of the New Hampshire Lottery. "We always like to meet our winners in person but we certainly respect the winner’s preference for privacy. Make no mistake about it, this is a life-changing amount of money. On behalf of the New Hampshire Lottery, I want to extend our congratulations to this lucky winner on this tremendous prize."
