Minimum-Security Inmate Fails To Return To Work After Break: DOC

CONCORD, NH — A transitional housing unit minimum-security prisoner is at-large, accused of not returning to his Concord job after a break, according to the New Hampshire Department of Corrections. James Vigeant is 34, about 5-feet, 6-inches tall, and weighs around 166 lbs. He has brown hair and eyes, and many tattoos – including one of a star near is right eye – as well as several on his neck, chest, stomach, back, legs, and arms.

Vigeant – who is finishing up a prison stint on drug charges from 2018 – "was scheduled to return from his break at his place of employment at 11 a.m.," according to Laura Montenegro, the public information officer for the NH DOC.

Vigeant was placed on escape status at 11:50 a.m. and was last seen on South Main Street in Concord.

Anyone with information about Vigeant's whereabouts is asked to call the NH DOC Investigations Bureau at 603-271-1860, New Hampshire State Police, or local police.

When caught, Vigeant faces three and a half to seven years in prison if convicted on the escape status. He was eligible for parole in February with a current maximum release date of December 2020.
