Missing New Hampshire Fugitive Has ‘Violent Tendencies,’ Department Of Corrections Says
Follow-Up: Michael William Ryan Jr. has multiple warrants for probation violations and bench warrants for nonappearance in Cheshire County.

CONCORD, NH — The New Hampshire Department of Corrections is asking the public’s help in finding a missing fugitive wanted since late 2024.
Michael William Ryan Jr. is white, 48, about 5 feet, 9 inches tall, and weighs around 160 pounds. He has green eyes and brown hair. Ryan has tattoos on his abdomen and chest.
Warrants for his arrest were issued by the Cheshire County Superior Court in November 2024 for violation of probation, and by the Keene Circuit Court in December 2024 and January 2025 for nonappearance in court. He was featured as a fugitive in June 2025.

Ryan, officials said, was serving probation after being convicted on domestic violence charges in May 2021 — including a strangulation count. In September 2024, a probation violation was filed against Ryan, accusing him of being involved in another domestic incident. A couple of months later, while out on bail with an electronic ankle monitor, he had it removed for a medical procedure.

“Ryan failed to return to the jail to have the electronic monitoring put back on,” an alert stated, “Ryan was considered to have absconded at that time and his current whereabouts is unknown.”
Ryan has a lengthy criminal history that includes domestic violence-related offenses, as well as drug and alcohol related offenses, officials said. He is “known to flee from police and should be considered dangerous,” hence the “violent tendencies” notification.
Ryan has ties to southwestern New Hampshire and the Tewksbury, Massachusetts, areas.
If you see Ryan or know where he is, do not try to apprehend him. Contact the police or corrections at 603-271-1804 or the Cheshire County Sheriff’s Office at 603-355-2000.
