Nearly 9,000 Without Power In New Hampshire: Alert
Update: Strong winds, including gusts of up to 50 mph, have brought blustery weather to the Granite State.
GRAY, MAINE — Showers and wind have caused a number of power outages across New Hampshire on Monday.
A cold front is moving into the state which will bring temps in the 20s and 30s on Tuesday. But after a relatively mild day on Monday, wind, and rain are knocking down branches and trees and causing outages.
As of 10:30 p.m., Eversource, the state’s largest utility reported around 6,000 customers without power. Most of the outages were in central and southern New Hampshire including about 600 out in Weare, 427 in Amherst, and more than 400 in Goffstown. Laconia, Gilford, Barrington, Nottingham, New Boston, Jaffrey, and Durham also posted large outages.

About 1,500 New Hampshire Electric Cooperative customers were without power including major outages in Deerfield, Allenstown, Moultonborough, and Tuftonboro. Smaller outages were reported in Lakes Region and the capital region.
Unitil is reporting about 800 without power in the capital region including outages in Concord, Boscawen, Chichester, and Epsom. There are also smaller outages in Danville, East Kingston, and Hampton Falls. The company is expecting to restore power by 4:30 a.m. on Tuesday.

Liberty Utilities is reporting eight outages.
In Concord, trees were reportedly down on Mountain Road and River Hill Road and Bailey Road in Chichester, too. Wires were reported down on Burns Avenue in Concord, Ridgewood Circle in Epsom, and Webster Mills Road in Pittsfield.
In Boscawen, capital area mutual fire compact dispatch reported a transformer fire in the area of Tremont and Commercial streets.
Light snow is expected on Tuesday morning.
