New Hampshire Bettors Wager $9 Million On Super Bowl, Patriots Draw 80% Of Bets

Granite Staters placed more than $9 million in bets on the Super Bowl — with a significant majority backing the New England Patriots.

CONCORD, NH — New Hampshire residents wagered more than $9 million on the recent Super Bowl.

More than 80 percent of bets on the game's winner were placed on the New England Patriots. Additionally, 45 percent of total MVP bets were placed on Drake Maye.

Since its inception on Dec. 30, 2019, sports betting in New Hampshire has seen nearly $4.5 billion wagered. This activity has generated $172 million to support public education in the state.

Charlie McIntyre, the executive director for the New Hampshire Lottery, commented on the event.

"There’s nothing like watching — and betting — on your hometown team in the Super Bowl," he said.

McIntyre added the Super Bowl is consistently the biggest single betting event of the year. He also highlighted the financial impact, stating, "Each wager made on the Patriots, Seahawks, or any of the player props directly supports Granite State students and teachers."

New Hampshire players also saw wins on various prop bets.

Popular successful wagers included Rhamondre Stevenson or A.J. Barner to score a touchdown, both teams to score two touchdowns, or Mack Hollins to score a touchdown or have the most receiving yards.

The New Hampshire Lottery partners with DraftKings for sports betting operations. DraftKings provides a variety of live prop bets, with popular choices including Hunter Henry scoring a touchdown, Drake Maye or Jason Myers to win MVP, and the coin flip landing on tails.

DraftKings and the New Hampshire Lottery emphasize responsible gaming. The DraftKings app includes tools such as My Stats Sheet, limit setting, cooling-off periods, and self-exclusion options.
