New Hampshire Fugitive Of The Week Found Stashed In Hidden Room: Marshals
Tia Jean Reed was arrested Thursday after a K-9 unit tracked her scent and found her hiding in a secret compartment in a home in Alexandria.

CONCORD, NH — This week’s New Hampshire fugitive of the week, a convicted drug dealer wanted on parole violations, was quickly apprehended on Thursday.
Tia Jean Reed, 26, was wanted by the state on parole violations after being convicted of cocaine and fentanyl sales as well as drug possession charges. She was featured on Wednesday.
According to Jeffrey White, a deputy marshal, the joint fugitive task force received “several tips” about Reed with the possibility that she was at a home on Cass Mill Road in Alexandria. During a search of the home, Reed was not found. But Joseph Bowie, 39, was in the home and found to have multiple outstanding warrants, he said.

“Mr. Bowie’s arrest warrants included the following: Belknap County for failing to appear on a narcotics charge, a second warrant for failing to appear on a theft charge, and Grafton County for failing to appear on a charge of operating a motor vehicle after being deemed a habitual offender,” White said.
Bowie was then arrested.

Marshals, however, decided to perform a second search of the home with a K-9 unit from the Bristol Police Department. The K-9 led investigators to a bedroom and a small hiding space behind a bookcase, White said.
“Ms. Reed was located inside this space and surrendered prior to getting apprehended by the K-9,” he said.
Both Reed and Bowie were taken to the Alexandria Police Department, where they were booked and processed. Bowie was then taken to the Merrimack County Jail in Boscawen, while Reed was taken to the New Hampshire State Prison for Women in Concord.
White said along with marshals, the state probation and parole board, Strafford and Grafton county sheriff’s offices, and police from Alexandria, Andover, Bristol, and Danbury worked the case.
“I continue to be overwhelmed by the collaborative efforts of the U.S. Marshals, the public, and all of our law enforcement partners here in NH,” U.S. Marshal Nick Willard said. “These efforts truly show what a great state New Hampshire is and that we all strive to make our state better every day.”
According to superior court records, Reed was arrested on nine counts of drug possession and cocaine dealing after a multi-month investigation between January and May 2015 in Franklin, when she was in her late teens. She pleaded guilty to six of the charges in February 2016. Reed was arrested on six more drug charges in March 2017 in Franklin. She pleaded guilty to four of the charges in January 2018 as well as a violation of probation or parole charge. In February 2018, Reed forfeited $1,804 in drug money, at the request of the state.
