New Hampshire Fugitive Of The Week Cain Ruggeri Found, Arrested In Vermont

CONCORD, NH — A recent fugitive of the week with multiple warrants has been found and arrested, according to state corrections officials.

Torin Michael Cain Ruggeri, 30, was featured on June 8 for being wanted on three violation of probation warrants and is wanted in Vermont. He has not been seen since leaving Grafton County Drug Court. Ruggeri was accused of missing a court date on Dec. 22, 2022.

After being featured, he was arrested by law enforcement in Vermont on other criminal charges. He is being held at the Southern State Correctional Facility in Springfield, VT, and awaiting extradition to New Hampshire.

According to super court records, in December 2016, Ruggeri was accused of operating after being certified as a habitual offender and felony drug possession. He pleaded guilty to the charges in March 2018. Ruggeri violated probation or parole in July 2019, March 2020, and December 2020.

Ruggeri pleaded guilty to an operation after being certified as a habitual offender in January 2017 out of Hopkinton in June 2017. He was accused of being a habitual offender again in Newport in February 2019 and was found guilty five months later. In June and July 2021, he was charged with theft in Claremont and habitual offender again in Newport. He pleaded guilty to the charges in October 2022. In November 2021, he was arrested on a drug charge in Claremont and pleaded guilty 11 months later.

A bail jumping charge was issued against him in March 2019 out of Newport. The charge was nolle prossed four months later.

Ruggeri was arrested on theft by unauthorized taking-$1,501+ charge in August 2021 out of Lebanon. In March 2022, in Haverhill, he was accused of receiving stolen property-$1,501+ and three theft by unauthorized taking-$1,501+ charges while pleading guilty five months later. In Lebanon in May 2022, he was accused of receiving stolen property-$1,501+ and habitual offender again. And, in June 2022, he was arrested in Lebanon on receiving stolen property-$1,501+, habitual offender, criminal trespass, conduct after an accident, breach of bail, two theft by unauthorized taking-$1,501+ charges. Ruggeri pleaded guilty to many of those charges in November 2022. In April, he was accused of violation of probation or parole, and those cases remain open.

In Claremont, in July 2022, he was arrested on domestic violence and second-degree assault-domestic violence charges. Three months later, the charges were nolle prossed.
