NH GOP HQ In Concord Hit With ‘Heart Nazis’ Spray Paint
Spray paint, broken window reported at building. Gov calls attack "disturbing" while Dems also condemn. Second attack at HQ in four years.

CONCORD, NH — The New Hampshire Republican Party headquarters on Water Street in Concord was hit with vandalism during the overnight hours including someone spray-painting a heart and the word “Nazis” in the rear of the building and also smashing a window, according to WMUR-TV. Staffers, according to the report, quickly washed the word off the wall. The attack has been roundly condemned by most of the politerati in the state.
Gov. Chris Sununu, R-NH, called the actions “disturbing” and “very sad” to see vandalism which has “no place in our politics or society.” One of his potential Democratic opponents in 2018, former Portsmouth Mayor Steve Marchand, also condemned the attack on Twitter.
“We can disagree on policy, but we should come together to condemn this act of vandalism, and its hateful sentiment,” he stated. (For more information on this and other neighborhood stories, subscribe to Concord NH Patch to receive daily newsletters and breaking news alerts.)

"Vandalism is unacceptable, it's inexcusable and it's wrong,” said Ray Buckley, the party’s chairman. “The New Hampshire Democratic Party wholly condemns this criminal action and hopes the perpetrator is held accountable. There is no place for that in our politics.”
This is the second time in less than four years that heightened political rhetoric on the national level has trickled down into acts of vandalism at the NH GOP HQ. Back in October 2013, someone spray-painted “WWJD HEALTHCARE FOR EVERYONE” in a similar area of the building to this most recent vandalism. The damage costs thousands of dollars to fix. During that attack, the NHDP also condemned the act.
“No matter our political disagreements there are always better ways to communicate with each other and we condemn these actions,” Harrell Kirstein, a spokesperson for the party, stated at the time.
Graffiti – political or otherwise – has become an increasing problem in Concord with police officers investigating a number of vandalism incidents in recent months.
