NH Man Charged in Abandoned Bow Dog Case
Police: Ronald Wiggin of Manchester was arrested yesterday after allegedly leaving his dog tied to a tree in Bow last month.

BOW, NH — A Queen City man has been arrested after allegedly tying his dog to a tree and leaving it abandoned in Bow last month, according to police. Ronald Wiggin, 47, of Manchester, was arrested on April 9, 2017, on an animal cruelty charge.

In late March, a local resident found a dog tied to a tree on Vaughan Road and reported it to police. An alert was issued with police trying to find any information about the dog while it was taken Pope Memorial SPCA of Concord-Merrimack County for treatment.

The owner came forward later, according to Sgt. Art Merrigan of the Bow Police Department.
After investigating the matter, the Bow Police issued a warrant for Wiggin’s arrest. Manchester Police arrested him yesterday. Wiggin is due in Concord District Court on May 15.

“The dog is doing well and will remain in the care of the Pope Memorial SPCA until the case is adjudicated,” Merrigan noted in the statement.
