NH Ponds Have Active Fecal, Cyanobacteria Bacteria Advisories: Update

Warnings, alerts, and advisories have been placed on several beaches and waterbodies in New Hampshire. Here's this weekend's update.

CONCORD, NH — According to state environmental officials, several beaches and water bodies in New Hampshire have various safety warnings.

Eleven lakes and ponds in the state have cyanobacteria or fecal bacteria warnings, alerts, or advisories. The state said toxins can cause both acute and chronic health effects that vary in severity —including skin and mucous membranes irritation, tingling, numbness, nausea, vomiting, seizures, diarrhea, and liver and central nervous system damage.
