NH State Police, Fish And Game Solve 19 Year Missing Person Case
Tony Imondi, 26, was last seen on July 1, 1998, in Errol. Today, a dive team removed the pickup truck he was last seen in from a river.

ERROL, NH — New Hampshire State Police and the New Hampshire Fish and Game Department have found a missing pickup truck with skeletal remains that they believe is a New Hampshire man missing since July 1998. Dive teams recovered a 1996 Ford Ranger pickup truck which contain the remains of Tony Imondi, 26, of Errol, who was last seen after attending a horseshoe tournament at Bill’s Seafood in Errol on July 1, 1998, according to Lt. Gary A. Prince of Troop F. Imondi was last seen leaving the restaurant in his girlfriend’s pickup truck.
“After family and friends did not hear from, or see him for several days they contacted NH State Police Troop F to report him missing,” Prince stated. “An immediate search of the area, interviews with friends and family did not reveal any clues of his whereabouts. It was unknown at the time if he had travelled south on Route 16 or west on Route 26. During the past nearly 20 years, a number of searches have been conducted in the area including by air, on the ground, and dive teams searching Androscoggin River and Lake Gloriette, located in Dixville Notch, to no avail, Prince noted. Although unsuccessful, Troop F detectives had hoped, at some point, they would find Imondi.

Detectives and dive teams focused on an area of the Androscoggin River a few miles south of Errol Village using a side scan sonar.
“The side scan sonar was able to detect an image on the bottom of the river,” Prince said. “Analysis of the image was consistent with a truck similar to the Ford Ranger. Further inspection of the area revealed that the image was in fact the missing Ford Ranger.”
