NH Teacher Arrested And Arraigned On Sexual Assault Charges In PA
Reports: Whitney Roberts, a softball coach and substitute teacher, allegedly had sex with a boy last year in Franklin Township, PA.

CONCORD, NH — A New Hampshire woman was arrested and arraigned on sexual assault and other charges earlier this month in Pennsylvania, according to press reports in that state. Whitney Roberts, 25, of Chocorua, was charged with two felony counts of institutional sexual assault and a single count of corruption of a minor. She was arraigned on March 13, 2018, and was scheduled to have a preliminary hearing on March 21.
According to reports based on PA State Police information, Roberts was a substitute teacher in the Towanda Area School District in November 2017, when she attended a party and “suggestively approached” and 17-year-old student. She allegedly ended up making out with the boy and exchanged social media contact information. The next day, Roberts reportedly picked him up from a friend’s house and took him to her place in Franklin Township, PA.
Pennsylvania law forbids sexual contact between a teacher or volunteer at a school and a student attending that school. It is a third degree felony in the state if the teacher or volunteer “engages in sexual intercourse, deviate sexual intercourse or indecent contact with a student of the school."
