NH Woman Accused Of Wrong-Way Drunken Driving Through Concord, Bow, Hooksett, Manchester

CONCORD, NH — A woman from Manchester is facing several charges after being accused of wrong-way drunken driving through several communities early Thursday morning.

New Hampshire State Police were told about a possible wrong-way driver around 12:30 a.m. in the area of Exit 13 of Interstate 93 in Concord. Callers reported the driver of the 2018 BMW 330i xDrive was traveling south in the northbound lanes. The car, Tyler Dumont, a public information officer for state police, said, was spotted by troopers near the Hooksett toll plaza.

“While additional troopers set up farther south to deploy tire deflation devices, the driver stopped near Mile Marker 10.2 on I-293, near the Manchester and Hooksett line,” he said. “In the moments that followed, a trooper discharged their firearm.”

Dumont said the driver continued to drive south in the northbound lanes but was eventually stopped near Mile Marker 9.4.

The driver, Kendra Malone, 44, of Manchester, was arrested and charged with felony reckless conduct with a deadly weapon, aggravated driving while intoxicated, driving while intoxicated, and disobeying an officer charges. She was arraigned in Hooksett District Court and held on $5,000 cash bail. Malone is due back in court for a probable on March 20.

“No one was hurt as a result of this incident,” Dumont said.

The State Police Major Crime Unit is investigating all aspects of the incident, he added.
