NHSP DWI Saturation Patrol Coming To The Capital Region

CONCORD, NH — The New Hampshire State Police, with the help of local police, will be stepping up drunken driving patrols this weekend in an effort to keep the roads safe from impaired drivers. While neither state nor local police release the exactly where and when that the patrols will take place, Lt. Michael Commerford of Troop D offered in a statement that the DUI patrols would occur "during the weekend of July 20, 2019," in the "Greater Concord Area." It's NASCAR weekend in the capital region, which means law enforcement, New Hampshire Department of Transportation, and others will be around Concord and Loudon ensuring that tens of thousands of race attendees get in and out of the area in an efficient and safe manner, and that fans have a great time.

"The New Hampshire State Police has taken an aggressive stance to prevent persons from driving when impaired," Commerford noted. "New Hampshire has some of the most aggressive laws in the country to fight impaired driving and the law enforcement community will use those tools to their fullest extent."

The program, approved by the NH Highway Safety Agency and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, provides federal highway safety funds to support the saturation patrols.
