Pair Indicted On More Charges In NH Home Explosion Case
Shane Fortier and Adam Dalton were indicted on burglary, assault, evidence, and other charges after a home exploded in Wilmot in 2017.
CONCORD, NH — Burglars stealing copper in a Wilmot home led to a home explosion last year as well as alleged crimes attempting to cover up the incident, according to New Hampshire Fire Marshal’s Office investigators. Shane Fortier, left, and Adam Dalton, both 27, were indicted by a Merrimack County Grand Jury on Dec. 13, 2017, on various numerous charges. The investigation by fire marshals as well as Wilmot Police and Fire revealed that Fortier and Dalton allegedly went to a Route 4A home to steal copper and were reportedly caught by the resident of the home, according to Adam Fanjoy of the New Hampshire Fire Marshal’s Office.

“They were confronted by the victim and fled the property,” Fanjoy alleged. “Upon entering the residence, the victim discovered copper piping missing from the home and an explosion occurred when a light switch was turned on by the victim.”
