Homeless Concord Drug Dealer Indicted On New Drug Sale, Shotgun Charges: Merrimack County Superior Court (patch.com) — Merrimack County grand jurors have handed up a series of felony indictments, including several tied to Concord residents and alleged crimes in the city. A Concord man from the local unhoused community faces numerous drug and shotgun charges connected to incidents in March and April, while another former Concord resident is accused in a long-term sexual assault case. The list also includes alleged theft at Sam's Club in Concord and other regional drug cases.
   

2. One Concord School Board Member Is Running In 2026, Another Is Out, While A 3rd Is On The Fence (patch.com) — Concord voters will choose three school board members this fall, with one incumbent running again, one stepping aside, and another still undecided about seeking reelection. The district is hosting an information night on Sept. 1 and opening candidate sign-ups Sept. 4 at its Liberty Street office, ahead of the Nov. 3 election. Local media, including Concord TV, plan candidate forums to help residents learn more.
   

3. Man From Concord Arrested On Drunken Driving Charges Again, Faces Aggravated Count: Concord Cop Log (patch.com) — Several Concord residents were recently arrested on charges ranging from drug possession and bench warrants to domestic violence and repeat drunken driving, according to the latest police log. Incidents occurred on familiar streets like Manchester Street, North Main Street, Loudon Road, and Curtice Avenue, giving residents a clear view of recent public safety activity in their neighborhoods.
   

4. Childcare providers want to pursue quality for their programs, but hurdles are mounting • New Hampshire Bulletin (newhampshirebulletin.com) — A Concord-based childcare director at East Side Learning Center describes how New Hampshire's Granite Steps for Quality program, meant to boost early education standards, is straining local providers with complex rules and limited funding. Concord and other centers say coaching cuts and misaligned credential requirements make it hard to advance in the system or cover real costs. They're urging state leaders to restore support and simplify expectations so programs can focus on children.
   

5. New Hampshire receives $7.3 million from 3M in PFAS settlement (inklink.news) — New Hampshire officials in Concord have secured a $7.278 million payment from 3M, bringing the state's total PFAS-related water settlement funds to more than $43 million. The money will go into the Drinking Water and Groundwater Trust Fund to help public water systems statewide, including those serving Concord residents, address PFAS contamination and protect long-term drinking water quality.
