1. 132-Year-Old Magazine Returned to New Hampshire Library After Fine Freeze (news-usa.today) — Concord Public Library's new year-long freeze on overdue fines just inspired the return of a magazine checked out 132 years ago, sparing the patron more than $12,000 in hypothetical fees. The 1894 issue will likely be preserved in the library's Concord Room, while residents can now test-drive the fine-free policy by bringing back long-forgotten items without penalties.
   

2. Concord holds open house for master plan update (concordmonitor.com) — Concord is updating its 2050 Master Plan, and residents just weighed in at an open house on priorities like housing, transportation, parks, and attracting young people. Over the next 18 months, planners and a new advisory subcommittee will refine those ideas, with neighborhood meetings in East Concord, the Heights, Penacook, West Concord, and other areas starting in early 2027.
   

3. Woman who prompted search after walking away from hospital had been charged with threatening officer (wmur.com) — A recent police search focused on a woman who walked away from Concord Hospital after being admitted for mental health concerns, though officials said she was not a public threat. State police now reveal she previously faced theft and threatening-an-officer charges, raising questions about supervision and communication around her hospital stay and departure.
   

4. Homeless Teen Racks Up Theft Charges In Concord, Fails To Appear At Court Hearing, Court Docs Say (patch.com) — Concord police and court records detail multiple theft-related charges this year against a 19-year-old woman now living in the city's unhoused community, including incidents at several local businesses. After missing an August court date and having a warrant issued, she is now expected back in Concord District Court in late October.
   

5. Savard shows the way for Concord against Salem (unionleader.com) — Concord High School's football team picked up a big Division I win over Salem, powered by junior running back Colin Savard's 194 rushing yards and two touchdowns. First-year coach Mike Leonard praised both Savard and the offensive line as Concord jumped out to a 28-0 lead and held off a late Salem rally.
