Police: Snyder Attempted to Rob Dunkin' Donuts in December
Investigators allegedly connect man caught at a burglary at the City Side Grille to an attempted handgun robbery on the Heights in 2014.

Concord Police believe they have the man who flashed a handgun in an attempted robbery at Dunkin’ Donuts on Loudon Road late last year, according to a press statement.
Zachary Synder, 24, of Concord, was arrested at the Merrimack House of Corrections on an attempt to commit armed robbery charge, a felony, this week.
The connection reportedly began to unfold after Snyder was caught allegedly burglarizing the City Side Grille on Manchester Street last month.

During the arrest process, according to Lt. Timothy O’Malley, the commander of the criminal investigations unit for the Concord Police Department, “officers made several observations leading them to believe that Snyder was the suspect who attempted to rob the Dunkin’ Donuts.”
In the Dunkin’ Donuts incident, which occurred just after midnight on Dec. 6, 2014, a man wearing a mask flashed a gun and demanded money from two employees at the store. The employees refused to give the suspect money three times and he fled the scene.

“(One of the victims) later reported that she was not trying to be brave, but was in shock during the incident and was terrified to think about what could have happened,” O’Malley noted.
Photos were taken from the scene and released to the public.
The alleged connection to Snyder though went beyond just matching the physical description of the man at the Dunkin’ Donuts, according to police. At the City Side Grille incident, Snyder was reportedly wearing “a distinctive black knit cap with eyeholes cut in it, which when pulled down was consistent with the mask worn by the suspect in the attempted robbery” as well as “other articles of clothing consistent with the robbery suspect.”
Detectives worked the case and executed numerous search warrants of Snyder’s vehicle and home while he was being held in jail. These searches allegedly led to “the recovery of additional physical evidence implicating Snyder.”
O’Malley noted that Snyder was not a suspect in the Tedeschi Food Shop robbery that occurred 10 days after the Dunkin’ Donuts incident.
Snyder will be arraigned in court remotely later today.
