Police: Woman Threw Steak Knives at Other Residents
Serena Newton was arrested after fight at Fayette Street group home.

A local woman with a number of other incidents in the last two years was arrested again recently and accused of throwing knives at other residents of the group home.
Serena Newton, 41, of Fayette Street in Concord, was arrested at 5 p.m. on Nov. 30, 2014, and charged with two counts of simple assault as well as felony counts of reckless conduct; place another in danger and default or breach of bail conditions.
According to an arrest report and court affidavit, officers were called to the Riverbend residential facility on Fayette for a panic alarm activation.

When they arrived, they saw several residents exiting the building and heard that there was a subject throwing knives inside the building. A staffer later alleged that Newton had assaulted and thrown knives at another resident. The officers entered the first floor living area and then the kitchen and saw Newton seated with a staffer. They observed “several generic steak knives” in various locations on a counter.
Newton reportedly told the officers that she wanted to go to the store to buy some chips and a soda but was not allowed to. She then allegedly admitted to starting a fight with another resident upstairs after not getting her request granted. The fighting reportedly continued with Newton allegedly throwing a lollipop at another resident. After the other resident threw the lollipop back, punches started flying and the fighting escalated.

“Ms. Newton stated that the fight continued downstairs in the building and that she ended up throwing knives across the kitchen and living room at other residents,” the affidavit alleged.
A staffer reportedly turned a kitchen table on its side to protect other residents from the flying knives, according to the report.
Since Newtown had been arrested previously due to allegedly assaulting another resident recently and was on probation, the staffer said she was a danger to herself and others and action needed to be taken, so officers arrested her.
Newton, according to arrest reports on Patch, was charged in August of last year with simple assault and arrested in October for criminal threatening and resisting. She was also arrested in November 2013 for assaulting a woman on Hall Street.
