When they arrived, they spoke to the woman and “noticed her face was red and she was bleeding from her nose and lip,” according to the reporting officer. The woman alleged that Bigl “had hit and strangled her.”
A second officer spoke to Bigl and he reportedly stated that he and the woman had been “arguing and yelling all night” and that while he was constructing an entertainment center in the living room, she “randomly came over to him and kicked him in the gut as he was kneeling on the floor working on his project,” according to the affidavit. She allegedly got on top of him and started punching him, he reportedly told the officer. Bigl allegedly told the officer that he pushed her off during the second attack and she “must have fallen” into the entertainment center.

The woman alleged that they were arguing “all night about infidelity issues” and she got tired and went to bed. She grabbed some pillows and a blanket so she could sleep on the floor in her room. After she brought them into her room, “Bigl came barging in, irate, and all of a sudden, threw her to the ground,” according to the affidavit. During this process, her face “hit something” and she landed on her back. Bigl then allegedly put his knees against her throat which stopped her breathing and she couldn’t speak, she alleged.
The victim reportedly began banging on the floor, in an effort to make noise so that a neighbor might hear her, and stated that she then punched Bigl and clawed at him, striking him in the eye, in an effort to get him away, the affidavit alleged.
The reporting officer noted that the woman’s room was “in complete disarray,” with clothing thrown everywhere, the pillow and blanket on the floor, as well as a container with change and bullet casing spilled on the floor. The officer also noticed a mirror that was broken, which the victim blamed on Bigl, alleging that he knocked it over during the altercation.
“It was immediately apparent that the altercation happened in this room as (the victim) stated it did,” the reporting officer said.
Bigl was then arrested and held on $16,000 cash bail. He was arraigned later that day.
