A local career criminal is in trouble with the law again after racking up numerous warrants and then, allegedly fleeing from an accident scene two weeks ago.
Christopher B. Engelhardt, 21, of South State Street, was arrested at 10:51 a.m. on May 1, 2015, and charged with criminal threatening (use of deadly weapon) and reckless conduct; place another in danger, both felonies, as well as three counts of criminal mischief, simple assault, resisting arrest or detention, and three warrants.

Police learned from a check of the vehicle that it was Engelhardt who reportedly fled the scene and he had active warrants out of Concord District Court and Hooksett District Court for nonappearance in court. Officers checked the area but were unable to find him. The New Hampshire State Police K-9 unit also lost the track near the Soucook River.
About 45 minutes later, the officer was sent to the Makris Lobster and Steak House for a report that there was a man asking to use the phone. Dispatchers told the officer that the man said he had been in an accident and needed to call his grandfather.

The officer went to the restaurant into the backroom where the man was waiting but he saw the officer and exited out the back door. The man, Engelhardt, was ordered to stop but instead, allegedly sprinted around a table and the officer tried to stop him but couldn’t.
“I told Chris to stop and to lie on the ground but he refused,” the officer alleged. “Chris picked up a chair and held it in between the both of us. I told Chris to drop the chair multiple times but he refused. Chris threw the chair at me and it struck me in the arm.”
After a bit of back and forth, the officer tackled Engelhardt and crashed into a table full of glassware, smashing both the table and the glass. State troopers also arrived and assisted in cuffing Engelhardt. He allegedly was “uncooperative” while walking out of the restaurant to the police cruiser.
Engelhardt had multiple abrasions and blood on his arms and appeared to also be injured from the previous car crash. Concord Fire and Rescue teams were called to the scene to evaluate Engelhardt and later, transported him to the hospital.
Engelhardt was later discharged and held without bail.
Later, the police learned that Engelhardt was wanted on numerous charges after an incident at Salisbury Green on Loudon Road on Jan. 7, 2015.
Previously, he has been arrested for speeding, false report to law enforcement, felony organized retail crime enterprise, disobeying an officer, driving after revocation or suspension, four counts of fraudulent use of a credit card, two counts of receiving stolen property, theft by unauthorized taking or transfer, conspiracy to commit, and default or breach of bail conditions,
