According to a court affidavit, Concord Police were informed of a vehicle leaving the scene of an alleged attempted burglary attempt in Chichester. Police in that community attempted to stop the vehicle – a 2005 Mercury Mountaineer, owned by a Perley Street man – but the vehicle allegedly didn’t stop.
Chichester Police Chief Pat Clarke pursued the vehicle in an unmarked police cruiser as it entered Concord on Mountain Road at Shawmut Street. A second vehicle – a state police sergeant – also became involved in the pursuit.
The Mountaineer turned east onto Shawmut Street, crossed the double yellow line, and struck a Honda sedan that was traveling west. The driver of the vehicle – later identified as Glodgett, according to court docs – put the vehicle in reverse and it collided with the unmarked Chichester cruiser that also made the turn around the corner.
Both Stafford and Glodgett then allegedly fled the scene.
The crash was caught on video from a Shawmut Street resident’s security camera.
Clarke and the state trooper pursued Stafford as he reportedly ran from the scene and refused to stop when ordered to, according to an affidavit. Stafford allegedly jumped a bridge into a creek where he was stopped and handcuffed by the trooper.
Concord Police attempted to hunt for Glodgett around the city including Manchester Street, Garvins Falls Road, the South End, and other parts of the city, to no avail.
Glodgett, according to Concord Police, is still at-large.
According to online reports, Glodgett is no stranger to police.
Back in March, according to a post on Concord NH Patch, he was arrested two counts of felony habitual offender, resisting arrest or detention, and possession of controlled drugs-marijuana, after allegedly driving erratically and attempting to steal stuff at Lowes, according to an employee at the store.
In February 2012, while living in Chichester, he was arrested in Salem for receiving stolen property and theft by deception, according to Salem NH Patch.
Fosters.com reported in November 2009 that he was arrested for DWI in Rochester.
