Second GoFundMe Effort Set Up After Concord Crash

Family members are trying to raise $50,000 to help offset medical costs after a motorcyclist sustained head injuries on Loudon Road.

CONCORD, NH — The sister of a man driving a motorcycle on Loudon Road that crashed into two bicyclists last week has set up a GoFundMe.com site in an effort to assist in offsetting his medical bills. Debbie St. Pierre created the site on June 11, 2017, in an effort to raise $50,000 toward her brother Donald/DJ’s care. She noted that he had received “great care” at Concord Hospital but there was a long road ahead for recovering and the family was overwhelmed with concerns and questions about his status.

“He is in critical condition, but stable,” she noted. “He is currently in ICU. They are taking great care of him. As of right now we know he has a great amount of head injuries, brain bleed and swelling and his entire face is fractured. X-rays and MRIs are still being done to look further into any broken bones but focusing on the major right now. All of his traumatic injuries have been to his head and face.”

According to St. Pierre, DJ has been sent to Boston where he will receive facial reconstructive surgery this week.

The effort, at post time, had raised $540.

The effort is the second GoFundMe.com fundraising request put together in the wake of the accident on Friday night where a motorcyclist reportedly moved away from an allegedly speeding vehicle and crashed into two bicyclists riding on the sidewalk in the Gully Hill area of Loudon Road. A friend of the Woods family set up a GoFundMe.com site to replace a bike owned by a teenager who was badly injured during the crash. The effort has raised $1,290 of the $1,500 goal, so far. The second teen’s bike was not damaged during the crash, according to the Woods family.
