‘Clipper System,’ Snow Coming To New Hampshire Wednesday; Slippery Commute Thursday
Forecasters at the National Weather Service issued a "winter weather advisory" for the Granite State; 2 to 7 inches expected.

CONCORD, NH — The National Weather Service issued winter weather and hazardous weather outlook advisories Wednesday, warning of 2 to 7 inches of snow in Hillsborough and Merrimack counties as well as the Lakes Region and North Country.
Forecasters said “an Alberta clipper-like system” will approach the state, bringing snow and rain, depending on ground temperatures. During the overnight hours Wednesday night and Thursday morning, as temperatures drop, snow will accumulate, and a slippery Thursday morning commute is “likely,” an alert said. Somewhere in the range of 2 to 7 inches is expected in the state, although forecasters said, “snowfall amounts will be light” in most Patch communities.

Highways and roadways, however, will “be impacted due to snowfall accumulations on untreated roads.” The alert, issued around 3 a.m. on Wednesday, stated, “Periods of moderate and heavy snow will combine with low visibility to create dangerous driving conditions. The hazardous conditions could impact the Thursday morning commute.”
Commuters were advised to “slow down and use caution while traveling.” Streets, stairs, sidewalks, and driveways, too, “could be icy and slippery.”
The advisory is active from 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 4, to noon on Thursday, Dec. 5.
Wind gusts are expected with the storm, ranging from 25 to 35 mph in the capital region, 23 to 29 mph in southern New Hampshire, and 24 to 32 mph on the Seacoast.
