Thief Placed On 'Escape' Status By NH Corrections Department

CONCORD, NH — The New Hampshire Department of Corrections is asking for the public's help locating a transitional minimum security resident last seen on Friday.

Michael Stevens, 43, was convicted on receiving stolen property and theft by deception charges out of Manchester in 2018 and was transitioning from prison to parole when he was accused of failing to return to the Calumet Transitional Housing Unit in Manchester on Friday after leaving his place of employment. He was placed on "escape" status by the state around 10:30 p.m.

Stevens is about 5 feet, 11 inches tall and weighs 195 lbs. He has brown eyes and a shaved head with a mustache and goatee. Stevens was last scene in a 2016 white four-door Chevy Cruz with a New Hampshire registration beginning with the numbers 478.

Stevens' earliest parole date would have been Feb. 17 with a current maximum release day of Feb. 19, 2023, according to state officials.
