Tree And Brush Fires Extinguished By Concord Firefighters: Videos
The city's forestry units, with the help of a Bow tanker, extinguished several trees that were burning on Penacook Street Sunday afternoon.
CONCORD, NH — Concord’s forestry units extinguished burning trees and brush in a forest off Penacook Street in the city.
Around 4:45 p.m., Capital Region Fire Dispatch began receiving calls about an outside fire in the area between Columbus Avenue and Jennings Drive. The fire was on the southeastern side of the street. Firefighters, upon arrival, found several trees ablaze in the driveway of a home in the area.
Firefighters used chainsaws to cut down the trees and access the fire inside the trunk and branches.

Just before 5:15 p.m., a tanker from Bow and a second forestry unit were requested to the scene to assist.
Around 6 p.m., the bulk of the fire was out, and the fire commander said they would be staying at the scene for an extensive overhaul.
At the time of publication, it is unknown how the trees caught fire.
