Trees Block Numerous Streets In Concord

Unitil is restoring power to the capital region after storm blasts through NH knocking down trees and branches, hitting houses, power lines.

CONCORD, NH — Concord’s General Services Department, Concord Police, and Concord Fire and Rescue teams have been running around the city placing road block signs up and cutting up trees in an effort to clear debris after the late October 2017 storm. Firefighters have also been sent to a number of active alarms around the city, too. During the last 90 minutes, trees blocking roads and hung up in power lines have been reported across the western and northeastern parts of the city.

As of 10:15 a.m. on Oct. 30, 2017, about 2,000 Concord Unitil customers – about 9 percent – remain without power.

Half of Unitil’s customers in the town of Bow, about 25 percent of Boscawen, nearly all of Canterbury and Loudon, more than a third of Chichester and Epsom, all of Dunbarton and Webster, about 20 percent of Hopkinton and Salisbury are still without power.

All Eversource customers in Bow, Canterbury, Epsom, and Loudon, about 60 percent of Chichester, are without power, 70 percent of Dunbarton, about a third of Pembroke, and 20 percent in Hopkinton are without power.
