CONCORD, NH — First responders in Concord had a very busy day Sunday after both an unattended death incident with a firearm on one side of the city and then a stabbing incident on the other. At around 10:30 a.m., police and firefighters were sent to Concord Street for a report of a person with a gunshot wound. A man reportedly discovered the woman inside the home who was cold to the touch. A revolver was also found at the scene.

The New Hampshire State Police Major Crimes Unit was called to the home and the area was cordoned off for most of the day, neighbors said. One reported that a body bag was removed from the home at around 5:30 p.m.

At just before noon on Sunday, police were sent to the Edgewood Heights apartment complex on Branch Turnpike for a report of a man holding a woman down on the ground, near the tennis courts, smashing on her head. A witness reported that there was a lot of blood.

Concord Fire and Rescue teams were requested to stage away from the area, which they did.

The man was reportedly walking away from the scene. A state police trooper offered to bring a K-9 unit to the complex and dispatch requested that he should. Witnesses told police dispatch that the man walked back into the apartment and then, returned to the woman.

Officers arrived, detained the man, and requested firefighters come to the scene.

A few minutes later, EMTs radioed dispatch to request the trauma unit be activated at Concord Hospital due to the severity of the stabbing incident – a woman in her 30s, who was unconscious, with multiple stab wounds. She was rushed to the hospital while more officers were called to the scene, including an officer from Bow and New Hampshire State Police troopers, to take witness statements.
