Close to a foot in some communities; Saturday breaks warmth record; fun things to do around the Granite State; Valentine's Day is Wednesday.
CONCORD, NH — After the warmest recorded day in history Saturday in Concord, weather forecasters are warning of a coastal storm that could bring 6 inches of snow to central New Hampshire and up to 12 inches of snow in the southern part of the state on Monday night and Tuesday morning and afternoon.
A “winter storm watch” was issued by the National Weather Service around 3:30 a.m. on Sunday, warning the storm would bring “plowable snow” to the region. The “coastal storm” will pass through the area late Monday night through Tuesday.
“The heaviest snow will fall Tuesday morning into Tuesday afternoon,” the alert stated. “There will be a sharp south-to-north gradient in snowfall.”
