Winter Storm Watch: ‘Moderate To Heavy Snowfall’ Heading To New Hampshire
Forecasters: Granite Staters should prepare for 6 or more inches of snow, wind gusts of 40 mph, between Sunday evening and Monday afternoon.

CONCORD, NH — A second snowstorm is heading to New Hampshire and bringing with it, “moderate to heavy snowfall,” and other weather elements, according to forecasters.
The National Weather Service issued a hazardous weather outlook and a winter storm watch on Saturday morning, warning of the storm on Sunday. The watch runs from 7 p.m. on Sunday to 4 p.m. on Monday.
“The next system in the ongoing active weather pattern is forecast to pass through southern New England Sunday night before exiting through the Gulf of Maine on Monday,” Saturday’s NWS alert stated. “This will bring another round of snowfall to the region with a cold rain more likely toward southern and coastal areas, although snow is possible before a transition to rain.”

The heaviest snowfall amounts were expected on Monday morning into mid-day, with travel impacts expected primarily for the morning commute.
“Snow may be wet and sticky,” forecasters said, “especially near the rain-snow line, which may increase power outage risk.”

The power outage risk will increase as winds turn gusty behind the storm system on Monday — with gusts as high as 40 mph.
The watch and warnings covered the entire state.
In Concord and the capital region, the snow was expected to start around 5 p.m. on Sunday and last through Monday until 7 p.m. Accumulations could be anywhere from 4 to 6 inches.
In Nashua, as well as eastern and western Hillsborough County and inland Rockingham County, the snow was expected to start around 4 p.m. on Sunday and end by 5 p.m. on Monday. Rain will continue after 5 p.m. Snow accumulations will be at least 2 inches or possibly more if the storm shifts.
On the Seacoast, the storm was expected to bring a mix but more rain than snow starting around 8 p.m. on Sunday through 8 p.m. on Monday.
North of Concord, accumulations were expected to be higher — between 8 and 11 inches.
AccuWeather.com was calling for slightly higher snow accumulations — as much as 18 inches in the North Country and Lakes Region, with a StormMax warning of up to 24 inches of snow. In the central part of New Hampshire, their forecasters said snow could reach 6 to 12 inches, while the southern and southeastern parts of the state could see anywhere from 1 to 6 inches.
More snow was expected to come to the state on Wednesday, too.
