Merrimack Police Attend Ashley Guindon's Funeral
Members of the department honor a fallen member of the community.

WOODBRIDGE, VA - Members of the Merrimack Police Department are in Virginia today to attend the funeral of Ashley Guindon, the former Merrimack resident who was shot and killed in the line of duty this weekend, on her first official day on the job.
Police have been posting notes on Twitter and Facebook about Guindon’s death and their efforts to honor her including lowering the department’s American flag to half-mast and also flying and driving to Virginia to attend the funeral.
Guindon graduated in 2005 from Merrimack High School. Her mother still lives in town, according to press reports.

An Army staff sergeant, who was allegedly involved in a domestic dispute, has been charged as a result of the incident that also injured two other officers and killed his wife, Chrystal Hamilton.
