NH Men Indicted In Separate Attempted First-Degree Assault Incidents
Plus: South Carolina man indicted on multiple rape charges out of Nashua; felon indicted on weapon charges; drug and theft indictments.

NASHUA, NH — The following people were indicted recently in Hillsborough County Superior Court South.
Robert Cain, 59, of no fixed address in Nashua, on three felony duty to report charges. He was accused of failing to register with the police three times between August 2021 and February. Cain is a sex offender due to an assault and battery on a child conviction out of Massachusetts. He has also previously been convicted for duty to report.
Shannon Cardenas, 46, of Pepper Street in Nashua on a felony theft by unauthorized taking charge. She was accused of exercising control over more than $1,500 owned by Triple Development LLC in Hudson between Nov. 1, 2020, and June 30, 2021.

Jonathan Carvalho, 39, of no fixed address in Nashua on attempted first-degree assault, criminal threatening, falsifying physical evidence, reckless conduct, and two pistols & revolvers; convicted felons charges. He was accused of attempting to stab and pointing a handgun at another person, cleaning up the blood and a shell casing from a kitchen, and possessing a Taurus 9 mm and a knife on April 26 in Nashua.
Raymond Champagne, 44, of Perry Avenue in Nashua on two criminal threatening and two felon in possession of a deadly weapon charges, all felonies. He was accused of possessing a crossbow and Davis Industries P-380 firearm and pointing the crossbow at two people on May 25 in Nashua. Jeffrey Chandler, 30, of Temple Street in Nashua on falsifying physical evidence, possession of a narcotic drug-subsequent, fentanyl and para-fluorofentanyl mix, and possession of a controlled drug-subsequent, methamphetamine, charges on May 18 in Nashua. He was previously convicted in Strafford County Superior Court in December 2019.
Hannah Chick, 27, of no fixed address in Nashua on a felony theft by unauthorized taking charge. She was accused of working in concert with Nicholas Brochu to steal more than $1,271 worth of items from Target in Nashua on Feb. 9, the indictment said.
Shane Duffina, 46, of Gold Mine Highway in Kershaw, South Carolina, on indecent exposure, four pattern-aggravated felonious sexual assault without penetration, and four pattern-aggravated felonious sexual assault, all felonies, and a sexual assault charge. He was accused of exposing himself to as well as raping, sexually assaulting, and fondling a girl between Aug. 28, 2009, and Aug. 27, 2012, in Nashua.
Norman Ellis, 62, of Temple Street in Nashua on a felony possession of crack cocaine charge on May 17 in Nashua.
Lucas Espersen, 35, of East Hobart Street in Nashua on two attempted first-degree assault, falsifying physical evidence, and two reckless conduct charges. He was accused of firing an AK-47 several times in the direction of occupied structures on May 14 near two homes on East Hobart Street in Nashua and then concealed the rifle in a wooded area to impair an investigation, according to the indictment.
Cristy Fernandez, 42, of Walnut Street in Nashua on a felony motor vehicles; penalties charge. She was accused of driving on Howard Street in Nashua on June 28 after being deemed a habitual offender by the NH DMV.
