4 From Nashua Charged After November 2024 Ash Street Riot, Shooting

Aisayack Perez-Virella and Choaniel Martinez-Virella were arrested Tuesday, while Mayda Virella and Nery Virella were charged last year.

NASHUA, NH — Two men from Nashua were arrested Tuesday on charges accusing them of assisting two women who were arrested in late November 2024 after a riot and shooting incident on Ash Street.

Aisayack Perez-Virella, 21, of Nashua, was arrested on attempted first-degree assault-accomplice, criminal threatening, and riot charges, all felonies. Also arrested Tuesday was Choaniel Martinez-Virella, 20, of attempted first-degree assault-accomplice, riot, and criminal threatening charges, all felonies. On Nov. 27, 2024, Nashua police arrested Mayda Virella, 43, of Nashua, on attempted first-degree assault, reckless conduct, criminal threatening, riot, and felonious use of a firearm charges, all felonies, while Nery Virella, 39, of Nashua, was charged with attempted first-degree assault-accomplice, reckless conduct, criminal threatening, riot, and felonious use of a firearm charges, all felonies, as well as seven counts of endangering the welfare of a child charges.

On Nov. 26, 2024, police were sent to Ash Street, near the Nashua Heritage Rail Trail, for a report of gunshots in the area. Police learned a group of people, two men and two women, were in the area to confront a man and a woman, according to Sgt. John Cinelli, the public information officer and communications division supervisor of the Nashua Police Department. Four shots were fired, but there were no injuries, he said.

Detectives continued the investigation which led to police accusing Mayda Virella of discharging “some of those rounds,” Cinelli said. She was arrested, held on preventative detention, and arraigned on Nov. 29, 2024.

Nery Virella was accused of possessing a firearm during the incident. She was also accused of having a young child with her when “she engaged in the altercation.”

“During the execution of a search warrant,” Cinelli said, “detectives located a loaded and unsecured firearm in the child’s playpen. As a result of the investigation, detectives completed an arrest warrant for Nery Virella.”

Nery Virella was arrested and released on personal recognizance. She was scheduled to be arraigned on Jan. 8.

Aisayack Perez-Virella was accused of bringing a baseball to the fight during the altercation and “assisted the two females with the firearms,” Cinelli said. He was arrested and held on preventative detention. Aisayack Perez-Virella was scheduled to be arraigned Wednesday.

Choaniel Martinez-Virella, Cinelli said, “was later found to have also had a firearm during the fight and assisted the two females with the firearms.” He was also held on preventative detention and an arraignment was scheduled for Wednesday.

Mayda Virella’s case was boundover on Dec. 11, 2024, from district court to Hillsborough County Superior Court South, while Nery Virella’s case was boundover on Monday. Mayda Virella has a bail hearing on Feb. 20.

Aisayack Perez-Virella was charged with reckless conduct-deadly weapon, riot, and felonious use of a firearm charges in December 2023. He was accused of being involved in a drive-by shooting on West Hollis Street in August 2023. He was indicted in 2024. All seven charges were nolle prossed late last year.

Mayda Virella was arrested on domestic violence charges in June 2019 in Nashua, according to a post on Patch.
