Hudson Man Faces Computer Services Prohibited Charge In Nashua

NASHUA, NH — Another New Hampshire man faces a felony charge after being accused of interacting with someone online he thought was a child and attempting to meet that person, according to police. Nashua police have been working on a number of cases during the last year as part of its affiliation with the Internet Crimes against Children Task Force. Another investigative endeavor by the department, Operation Cyber Guardian, led to numerous arrests in both New Hampshire and Massachusetts.

Police in Nashua and nearby communities have arrested around two dozen men on charges during the last nine months, according to reports on Patch.

In November 2019, officers opened an investigation into Ryan Fitzgerald, 40, of Sycamore Street in Hudson, according to Lt. Matthew DiFava of the Nashua Police Department.

"Members of the special investigation division began an investigation into the sexual exploitation of children on the internet where a subject, identified as Fitzgerald, was communicating with a person he believed to be a child," Difava said. "As a result of the investigation, on Feb. 17, 2020, Fitzgerald was arrested after traveling to Nashua."

Fitzgerald faces a single felony certain uses of computer services prohibited charge. He was released on $200 cash bail and is scheduled to be arraigned in Hillsborough County Superior Court South on Feb. 27. If convicted, Fitzgerald could be sentenced to seven years in prison and fines.
