Nashua Felon Arrested On More Theft, Trespass, Other Charges

NASHUA, NH — A felon with more than a dozen charges under his belt since 2009 was arrested again on Thursday on charges after a criminal trespassing incident in Nashua.

Around 2:30 a.m. on Thursday, police were sent to a home in the Gate City for a report of two people trespassing, Det. Lt. Joshua Albert of the criminal investigation division of the police department, said.

“Anthony was identified as a suspect, and it was determined that he had an active arrest warrant for theft from a Nashua retail store,” he said.

Monbleau was was arrested and charged with theft and criminal trespass.

Albert said detectives furthered the investigation and determined Monbleau had two prior convictions for theft-related offenses out of New Hampshire, making the charge a felony case. Since he was out on bail two days before, a breach charge was added.

Monbleau faces nine years in prison and fines. He was unable to post bail and was held. Monbleau will be arraigned in Hillsborough County Superior Court South.

According to superior court records, Monbleau’s criminal history dates back to 2009.

Monbleau was accused of burglary and theft charges, both felonies, in Brookline in July 2009 and pleaded guilty to both charges in January 2011. He was found guilty of violation of probation in July 2012. Monbleau was also charged with fugitive from justice in September 2009, a charge that was dropped later.

In October 2010, Monbleau was accused of burglary in Nashua, but the charge was dismissed in August 2011. He was accused of three forgery charges in Hudson and forgery and theft by deception charges in Nashua. He was found guilty on two of the forgery charges while two others were dismissed and the theft charge was nolle prossed.

In September 2013, Monbleau was accused of drug possession in Salem. A month later, in October 2013, Monbleau was arrested on theft by unauthorized taking-$1,501+, drug possession, resisting arrest, driving after revocation or suspension, transport drugs in a motor vehicle, disobeying an officer, and three reckless conduct-deadly weapon charges after a high speed chase in Salem. He pleaded guilty in April 2014 to all charges but the drug transport.

About four and half years later, in February 2018, Monbleau was arrested on habitual offender and two theft charges in Salem. In April 2018, he was arrested on another habitual offender charge in Nashua. Monbleau pleaded guilty to all of the charges. In June 2020, his sentence was amended.

But with the Nashua charge, there was a deferred sentence request. In June 2022, Monbleau was arrested again on a habitual offender charge, which he was recently indicted on. He failed to appear at a status conference on the request in November 2022. A new deferred sentence hearing and status conference hearing were booked for Feb. 7.
