Nashua Man Arrested After Child Overdoses On Fentanyl

NASHUA, NH — A felon from Nashua with a prior drug conviction from three years ago faces new charges after a child overdosed at a local residence late last month.

Fire and rescue teams and later, police, were sent to a location in the city after receiving a report of an 11-year-old overdosing on fentanyl on June 27. EMTs administered Narcan to reverse the effects of the drug, according to Sgt. John Cinelli, the public information officer and communications division supervisor of the Nashua Police Department.

“The juvenile regained consciousness and was transported to a local hospital,” he said.

Special investigations division detectives continued to work the case and reportedly located evidence that the fentanyl belonged to Tyler Greenhalgh, 31, of Nashua, a report stated. Police also accused him of neglecting “to care for the juvenile,” Cinelli said.

A warrant was requested and Greenhalgh was arrested on felony possession of a controlled drug-subsequent offense and endangering the welfare of a child the next day. He was held on $2,500 cash bail and was scheduled to be arraigned Monday.

According to superior court records, Greenhalgh was accused of acts prohibited in July 2016 in Nashua. The charge was nolle prossed a year later.

In December 2018, he was accused of possession, common nuisances, and fentanyl possession after two incidents in Hudson. Greenhalgh pleaded to two felony possession of a controlled drug charges in June 2021. He received a 12-month suspended sentence and was fined $434. The other charges, as well as the fentanyl count, were nolle prossed.
